Job Opportunity: Electrical Maintenance Technician - Rail Location: Kent / East London Hourly Rate: £29 per hour Contract Duration: 12-week rolling contract Hours: 40-50 hours per week Shift Pattern: 10-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights) A leading rail maintenance company is looking for four experienced Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join their team in Kent or East London. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of rolling stock through comprehensive electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repair activities. Key Responsibilities: Conduct electrical fault finding, defect diagnosis, and repairs on in-service trains. Perform system-level diagnostics on brakes, doors, and traction systems. Carry out component-level testing on suspect or faulty electronic hardware. Work with technical documentation and on-train monitoring systems to ensure effective defect rectification. Adhere to the company’s Engineering Management System and safety protocols. Required Skills & Experience: Engineering experience with an electrical focus. Ability to interpret technical schematics and diagrams. Experience in first-level fault finding and diagnostics. Proficiency in IT systems and data interpretation. Physically fit and able to pass an engineering-standard medical examination. Previous experience in rolling stock maintenance is desirable. Must hold a full UK driving licence. Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent. BTEC Technical Certificate in Engineering. Additional Information: No expenses will be paid; primary place of work is in Kent or East London. Candidates must pass a medical, drug, and alcohol test before assignment start. Full depot induction and required PPE will be provided. PAYE or Umbrella engagement only (Inside IR35).
