The School and Role
I'm recruiting on behalf of an excellent Special Needs School based in Herne Hill. We re looking for a SEN Teacher to support pupils with PMLD (Profound and multiple learning disabilities).
The ideal candidate must have a background in working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges these learners face.
This school is committed to providing outstanding education to young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties. They aim to create a calm and nurturing atmosphere supporting our student's personal growth and education.
Part of the school facilities are:
* Hydrotherapy pool
* Hygiene rooms with hoists and changing beds
* Trampoline for rebound Therapy
* Dark room
* Sensory room
* Performing Arts studio
* Art room
* Music room
* Gym
* Life skills kitchen
* Overhead hoists in most classrooms
The desired SEN Teacher will:
* Have a passion to teach outside of a mainstream environment, and a commitment to experience the unique opportunities of a special school
* Have a kind, caring, and compassionate nature which is used to plan and deliver inclusive, fun, and inspiring lessons
* Have a recognised UK teaching qualification
* Have extensive experience working with PMLD students who have a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and severe medical conditions.
* Have Moving and handling training and able to use hoist
