Located at the heart of England’s North West, St Helens offers great opportunities as a place to live and work. St Helens Borough Council plays a key role in the Liverpool City Region and has an acknowledged reputation for excellent planning services.
We are dealing with an exciting range of planning challenges, balancing needs for major new development against the protection of the Borough’s greenspaces and environmental assets. We have recently adopted our ambitious new Local Plan, which includes site allocations for development, particularly the Bold Forest Garden Village allocation for approximately 3,000 dwellings and associated infrastructure.
Making a difference as a Masterplanning Officer in the Planning Department
We are looking for a Masterplanning Officer (Bold) who will play a key role in driving forward the preparation of the Bold Forest Garden Village Masterplan Framework. This will include project management, excellent organisation skills, collaborative working with colleagues and stakeholders, and liaising with the public.
You will ideally have knowledge of current planning legislation, guidance, and procedures, along with a genuine enthusiasm for the delivery of strategic sites. Excellent communication skills are essential. You will be able to work independently to tight deadlines and be an effective team player with proficient IT skills. Some experience in a town planning team or related environment will be beneficial.
