Job overview
This is a new post for a Specialty Doctor in Gynaecology.
This post would be suitable for a doctor with at least 4 years of postgraduate experience who would be interested in General Gynaecology, outpatient Hysteroscopy (OPH) and Gynaecology Cancer/Oncology looking to work in NHS.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and enthusiastic team of 20 consultants delivering safe, effective care for obstetrics and gynaecology patients in Buckinghamshire.
The successful candidate will have a job plan based on 10 PAs and will be expected to support ambulatory gynaecology. The successful candidate will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury with cross-site working at Wycombe Hospital running gynaecological clinics, outpatient hysteroscopy, run theatre sessions and support day on-call as service requires.
The post holder will be encouraged and supported to develop their own interests within the agreed job plan with a focus on contributing towards Gynaecology recovery to fulfil national and Trust targets.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play an important part in day-to-day management of gynaecological patients. The post holder will run General Gynaecology outpatient clinics and outpatient hysteroscopy with specialist clinics based on clinical skills and experience.
Key Tasks
* Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Gynaecology patients at all times.
* To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of Gynaecology patients requiring admission, investigations, or surgery.
* To undertake duties within the agreed job plan.
* To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
* To support with teaching and training of junior medical staff.
* To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
