Our client are a manufacturing company that utilise volume chemical materials in the manufacturing of their products. They are an exciting global business with a real focus on research and development that has been established for over 150 years. They have asked us to help them to secure an experienced and innovative HSE Officer to join their team.
Role responsibilities:
* Developing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Carry out ongoing upkeep of the sites environmental management systems
* Ensuring all auditing programmes are established, up to date and implemented
* Maintain and improve HSE procedures
* Investigate accidents and/or near misses and issue relevant reports, whilst ensuring the incident log is up to date.
* Support delivery of any relevant training
* Ensure health and safety compliance throughout
Who they are looking for:
* Experienced as a Health and Safety Officer or Manager within a chemical or hazardous materials environment as well as a manufacturing environment, although it is not required to have experience with these within the same role. Eg. you could have worked in a non chemical manufacturing environment but then have chemical or hazardous waste experience from another role.
* Knowledge of current HSE legislation and regulations
* NEBOSH certification
* Ideally COSHH and/or COMAH experience / qualifications
* A people first attitude with a convincing manner to drive through necessary changes to current processes and procedures
This role is based in Speke in Liverpool. It is a hybrid role with 4 days in the office.
