GoHenry is a UK-based fintech company created by parents to pioneer financial education. More recently, GoHenry moved into Europe and the US by joining forces with French fintech company PixPay and US investing app, Acorns.
Together, Acorns, PixPay, and GoHenry have over 6 million members across 5 countries. GoHenry offers a smart money app and debit card for kids and teens that helps them grow their skills in earning, saving, spending, and investing. This is all designed to help them prepare for their future by building a foundation of healthy money habits.
The Role
Reporting to the VP of Product Design, GoHenry & Acorns Family, you’ll play a key role in shaping the Acorns experience. From ideation to execution, you’ll help define intuitive, thoughtful, and delightful money tools. You’ll support and collaborate with fellow designers, engineers, and product managers to bring new features to life, refine existing experiences, and push against what’s possible.
You should be comfortable working with tools like Figma and have experience designing consumer apps and digital products. You’ll help refine features, build design systems, and evolve the Acorns product experience alongside a talented team.
This isn’t just a job; it’s life’s work. Because when people feel in control of their money, they feel in control of their lives. And when that happens at scale, society changes. If that sounds like the kind of design work you want to be doing, we’d love to hear from you.
This role will work closely with the US Acorns team. You will be expected to have four (4) or more hours of overlap with Acorns' standard business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday, Eastern Standard time).
Responsibilities:
1. Understand product goals and objectives, translate requirements into actionable design solutions, and address user pain points while contributing to the company’s key performance indicators (OKRs).
2. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to design and deliver user-centered features and functionality across multiple platforms.
3. Develop and present thoughtful, innovative, and user-focused design solutions that enhance the customer experience. Clearly articulate design rationale to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.
4. Advocate for and incorporate user research into the design process. Share findings to inform product development and refine solutions. Must be comfortable with running live A/B experiments and contribute to research strategy.
5. Actively participate in design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team. Serve as a design advocate across the organization.
Who we’re looking for:
1. 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or a related role, with a demonstrated ability to deliver impactful user experiences.
2. Strong understanding of design principles and best practices, including typography, desktop/mobile UI, color schemes, layout, and iconography. Skilled in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
3. A robust portfolio showcasing your ability to design and deliver impactful, user-centered solutions across digital products.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to team members and stakeholders.
5. Experience working within and contributing to a design system to ensure consistency and scalability in your design outputs.
You’re a self-starter who is motivated to kick start projects, welcomes challenges, seeks feedback from others, asks 'How can I help?' and then 'How can we make this better?', and shows perseverance in long-term goals.
What’s in it for you?
All the essentials you would expect including a workplace pension plan, 33 days of holiday (including public holidays), & great company events local & abroad!
We also provide:
1. GoFlex - Work from Home, Office, or a mix of both.
2. Your Birthday Day off.
3. 25 days annual leave, in addition to 8 UK bank holidays.
4. An excellent Induction & onboarding program with ongoing learning & development throughout your career.
5. A choice between Bupa Health Cash Plan or Bupa Private Medical.
6. Death in service – 4x your annual salary from month 1.
7. Physical and Mental Wellbeing support and platforms for you and your family.
8. Family-friendly leave policies.
9. Enhanced maternity leave – 20 weeks full basic pay after 2 years’ service and 26 weeks full basic pay after 3 years’ service.
