We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Specialist CAMHS Practitioners to join our Neurodevelopmental Team. We currently have one full time post.
This exciting post will be predominantly clinical work with additional time for leadership. The successful candidate will work alongside the Team Manager and Clinical Lead to support the team, provide some referral management and help to oversee the pathways, ensuring we are providing the highest quality patient care. This will be an opportunity for someone who has had some leadership experience but who wants to develop further skills whilst continuing to work clinically.
We are a multidisciplinary team who work with young people with a diagnosed moderate to severe Learning Disability and provide assessment and treatment for Autism and ADHD. The team provides mental health assessments for young people with a neurodevelopmental disorder and also psychological therapies for co-morbid mental health disorders.
The Neurodevelopmental Team are committed to a high level of patient care and the ideal candidate will have a strong team and work ethic, sense of accountability, interest in service development, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide an evidence-based therapy service to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities in the Neurodevelopmental Service CAMHS which is part of the Children, Young People and Families Directorate in CPFT.
2. Patients will be managed on a community basis providing assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and/or comorbid mental health disorder and evidence-based therapy.
3. At the same time as offering advice and consultation on patient's mental health care to colleagues and partner agencies and to other non-professional carers.
4. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's and Trust's policies and procedures.

1. To work alongside the Team Manager, Clinical Lead and Senior Leadership Team to continue to develop the service and maintain the highest quality of service delivery.
2. To support the Team Manager and Clinical Lead with staff supervision, referrals management and investigating complaints.
3. To work as an integral member of the CAMHS Neurodevelopment Community Team, providing comprehensive mental health and diagnostic assessments of neurodevelopmental disorders and other specialist assessments (if applicable such as SALT, OT, Cognitive), demonstrating the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources including, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care.
4. To be part of the MDT formulation meetings and have the ability to utilise specialist knowledge to make decisions about a child or young persons mental health and neurodevelopmental needs.
5. To participate in the prevention and early detection of emotional and mental health difficulties in children and adolescents referred to the service.
6. To participate in the planning and delivery of evidence-based therapeutic programmes e.g. Positive Behaviour Support, CBT and Parenting programmes on both an individual and group basis to children and young people and their families.
7. To develop formulations of presenting problems or situations that integrate information from assessments within a coherent framework that draws upon mental health theory and evidence which incorporates developmental, interpersonal, societal, cultural and biological factors.

Education/Qualification
Essential
1. A recorded/UK registered Nursing qualification with NMC registration, or HCPC registration in SALT, OT or Social Work or a recorded/UK registered and accredited CBT Practitioner
Desirable
1. Training in Child Protection
2. Training in an evidence-based treatment intervention recommended by NICE Guidelines relevant to CAMHS and children with neurodevelopmental disorders, i.e. CBT, IPT, Systemic Therapy and/or other specialist interventions programmes
3. Additional training in managing challenging behaviour
4. Training in specialist neurodevelopmental assessments such as ADI-R, ADOS-2, Qb
5. Supervision training or willingness to undertake
