Database Administrator (Oracle & Unix) - £52,447 - £56,194
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team, enabling our people to perform at their best by continuing to pioneer latest technologies and deliver outstanding policing
You will be providing technical expertise and analysis within your specialism, Oracle and Unix, which includes the technical analysis, design, development, installation, configuration, tuning and support of all devices, infrastructure, and applications.
Skills and experience:
Strong background in Oracle DBA and Unix server administration
Previous experience in Microsoft certified SQL databases
Minimum 3 years working in a System Administration role in a Linux environment
Basic Windows, macOS and Linux workstation administration and troubleshooting
Basic Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy Print Services, Filesharing, DNS/DHCP, RAS and IIS).
Linux Server Administration (Deployment, file system management, Samba, CIFS, performance monitoring, package management, process management and automation, basic bash scripting, DNS and DHCP, securely configuring SSH).
Understanding of VDI and virtualization technologies including containerization such as LXD/LXC and Docker.
Designing and maintaining moderate to complex networks, use of VLANS, inter-site connectivity (e.g. IPSEC).
Experience with stateful firewalls.
Experience working within an ITIL environment, handling change requests and solving problems
Knowledge of Oracle Solaris Logical Domain administration is highly desirable

Please be aware: the basic salary for this role is £45,147 - £48,894, with an additional market supplement payment of £7,300 (subject to annual review)
