Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals living in our Homes, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor individuals' conditions, and contribute to a positive environment for both individuals and staff. You will be working as part of a team in which teamwork and supporting each other is paramount to creating an empowering homely environment. You will be expected to attend training, including staff meetings, to ensure you are qualified in your role and are contributing to the development of the workforce and environment.
Responsibilities
1. Assist individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety at all times.
3. Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the team leader.
4. Support individuals with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
5. Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals by adhering to hygiene protocols.
6. Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, fostering a caring atmosphere.
7. Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.
Skills
1. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and healthcare team members.
2. Empathy and compassion towards individuals' needs and concerns.
3. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
4. Excellent organisational skills to manage time effectively in a busy environment.
5. Basic understanding of healthcare practices and procedures is advantageous.
6. Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting or moving individuals.
7. Attention to detail in monitoring conditions and maintaining records.
