Our client in East Midlands is looking to appoint an Environmental Health Officer to join their Environmental Protection team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a range of projects, with the position initially offered on a contract basis until the end of March 2025, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Responding to service requests and addressing statutory nuisance issues (including noise, lighting, and other environmental concerns).
2. Managing responses to planning applications and ensuring compliance with environmental health regulations.
3. Undertaking a full range of duties related to private sector housing enforcement, including HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) inspections and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments.
4. Providing technical advice and support on a variety of housing-related matters.
Minimum Requirements:
To apply, you should have at least two years of post-qualification experience in pollution control and housing enforcement within a Local Authority setting. You must be capable of managing your own caseload, demonstrating efficiency and autonomy while working with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively engage with the public and colleagues alike. Additionally, an HHSRS accreditation is a requirement for this role.
