Role: Workshop Engineer
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: 40 hours (Flexible start and finish between 8am-6pm)
Salary: Competitive
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Workshop Engineer to join our client’s successful team.
The role is for an established FMCG company. They are open to hiring someone who does not have industry experience but will ideally have transferable skills.
What we would like from you:
1. Working to set checklists to prepare machines prior to sale or customer on-site use
2. Performing service and/or maintenance on industrial food processing and packaging machinery
3. Building control panels from scratch using mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components
4. Fault finding on electrical systems
5. Designing small scale electrical and pneumatic systems in order to fill unique customer requirements
6. Changing or retrofitting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic machine parts for a variety of food processing and packaging machinery according to customer requirements
7. Working on projects or machinery both alone at times and as part of a team
8. Stripping down existing machinery and carrying out repairs
9. Maneuvering heavy machinery around the warehouse and workshop using forklift truck or pump truck
10. Ability to use safe Manual handling practices to move heavy machinery parts
11. Awareness of COSHH safe working practices
12. Accurately documenting and recording machine information to ensure that all departments are kept informed
13. Using Word and Excel to create, edit and document various processes in the warehouse
14. Programming drives with pre-programmed manufacturer software and settings
15. Maintaining clean and safe work area at all times
16. Liaising with stores team to ensure accurate booking-out of any required machine parts
17. Cleaning machinery parts
18. Working with various electrical systems (single phase, 3-phase and 24v)
19. Working with R&D to ensure that projects designed in-house are fit for customer purpose
20. Working with Service to communicate about machinery in the workshop
21. Working with service engineers to support them with machinery queries
