We are looking for an engaging and people-focused Manager to lead our cleaning team. The successful candidate will be supported to develop fully in the role, and will be encouraged to work alongside the Epsom hospital cleaning manager.
Main Duties of the Job
This post holder will be responsible for the overall provision of the cleaning services at one of our acute hospital sites:
* Adjust work schedules to reflect service changes, and compile and update work schedules on an ongoing basis.
* Develop staff rotas to ensure effective service delivery.
* Manage staff absences in line with Trust policies.
* Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources within budget.
* Implement quality control systems and participate in monitoring.
* Involve in problem solving and handling conflicts.
* Implement policies to meet legal, statutory, and mandatory requirements.
* Participate in recruitment and retention of staff.
* Responsible for arranging work rotas and maintaining sickness and absence records.
* Motivate and communicate effectively with the team.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE English/Maths or Equivalent
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant subject
Experience
* Staff management – performance, absence/attendance, investigations, and disciplinary hearings.
* Managerial experience working within a Facilities Management (FM) service or similar establishment.
* Previous experience of leadership and team building.
* Management experience within an NHS environment or similar.
Knowledge
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people effectively.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of H&S policies and procedures.
Personal Attributes
* Maintains a smart, professional, and hygienic appearance.
* Positive can-do attitude.
* Good customer service skills.
