We are looking for a Business Development Manager to take our business to the next level – expanding the reach of our excellent care services, and further strengthening our links within the community. You will take the lead on generating enquiries, and engaging with members of the public: acting strategically and operationally to increase the awareness of the Right at Home brand in North Somerset and Somerset. You will play a key role in developing and implementing engagement strategies, events, and initiatives that enhance our brand, increase community participation, and contribute to the overall success of Right at Home.
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 plus KPI incentives
Key Responsibilities:
* Community Presence: Spend the majority of your time out in the community, facilitating and attending events and engaging with residents of independent living and retirement villages. Evening and weekend work is expected and will allow you to fully engage with community events and activities.
* Engaging and Building Relationships with Healthcare Professionals and Referring Agents: For example, Care Navigators, Village Agents, District Nurses, GP surgeries, Hospital Discharge Teams.
* Event Coordination: Take the lead in organizing meetings and information sessions (e.g., Dementia Friends), as well as facilitating community events such as singing, movement, dance, gardening, and activities like “dementia cricket” and “dementia football.” You could start a regular coffee morning or volunteer to support already existing coffee mornings, to give you the opportunity to spread the word about our fantastic service. You may hire facilitators, or undergo further training, to support these activities.
* Enquiry Management: Respond to enquiries from various sources (eg chat and Bark) over the weekend, ensuring timely and effective communication.
* Marketing & Promotion:
o Ensure photographic consent forms are signed and capture high-quality photos at all events. These images will be used for social media, press releases, and other marketing materials.
o Develop marketing and information materials to help with business development, and to assist campaigns out in the community.
o Team Coordination: Collaborate with team members to enhance business development and community engagement efforts.
o Research & Networking: Identify and attend community gatherings, networking opportunities, and local exhibitions to deliver information sessions. Initiate new activities or events that forge strong community links. Coach and support the owner and Registered Manager in attending these events alongside you.
o Analysis of incoming enquiries: Analysing and presenting figures around enquiry sources, and marketing effectiveness. Working with the office team to ensure enquiry sources are accurately captured.
* Digital Media and Press Relations:
o Schedule regular social media posts using best practice canva and social media scheduling tools.
o Ensure that social media and our website is updated with upcoming events.
o Work with our press release team to obtain maximum press coverage.
o Understand and influence our Google and Facebook ads strategy.
o Understand and maintain our digital enquiry sourcing platforms (eg. Lottie, Autumna, Bark, Nextdoor, Pairly).
* Performance Goals:
o We will collaboratively set targets with you, which will feed into your KPI incentives. Including, but not limited to:
o Keeping track of the number of converted client enquiries per month which have directly resulted from your outreach activities.
o Keeping and submitting a record of daily activities and interactions for review by your line manager. Every day will present new opportunities to expand our Right at Home network and brand.

Work Schedule:
* A flexible 37.5 hours per week, tailored to the needs of business development, and allowing evening and weekend work.
* Note: this is not a traditional office-based role. You will primarily need to be planning and out and about in the community.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience in a customer service setting, building up relationships – Essential
* Hands-on and Strategic Sales / Marketing / Business Development Experience - Essential
* Previous Domiciliary Care experience – Desirable but not Essential
Skills and Attributes:
* Has the desire to make a real difference and greatly improve an already well-established business.
* Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Good computer skills including proficient use of MS Office, the ability to produce reports and good computer systems knowledge.
* Extremely well organised, excellent planning and prioritising ability with high attention to detail.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships.
* Strong administration skills and ability to manage multiple workloads.
* Willingness to respond to client enquiries outside of normal office hours in the evenings or weekends as and where required.
* Willingness to facilitate or attend events or activities that take place in the evenings or at weekends.
