Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEN) Location: Newcastle Salary: £87 - £108 per day (Depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across Newcastle. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of young learners with diverse needs. Role Overview: As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (SEN), you will work closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with SEN on a one-to-one or small-group basis. Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons that meet the needs of all students. Help students build confidence, develop key skills and achieve their individual learning goals. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate. Support students during transitions and unstructured times, such as breaks and lunch. Requirements of Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA): A recent graduate with a degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field. Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable. A genuine enthusiasm for education and a commitment to supporting the development and well-being of students with SEN. Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD etc. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
