We are on a journey to becoming a B-Corp certified company, and we’re looking for a passionate, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Accounts and HR Assistant. Role Overview:
We are seeking a Part-Time Accounts and HR Assistant to provide essential support in both our finance and human resources functions. This combined role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across two critical areas of business operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a start-up environment, be well-organized, with strong attention to detail and an understanding of both bookkeeping and basic HR processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate financial records and perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
* Prepare and manage monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow.
* Process payroll and ensure accurate deductions, benefits, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
* Assist in the preparation for year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants as needed.
* Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
HR Assistance:
* Support in recruitment processes, including posting job ads, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
* Assist with onboarding of new employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
* Maintain employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
* Assist with employee relations, addressing queries and providing support on HR policies and procedures.
* Help implement and monitor employee wellbeing initiatives as part of Metpow’s commitment to a positive workplace culture.
* Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the company’s B-Corp goals and values.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in accounts and HR, ideally in a start-up business environment.
* Solid understanding of Xero accounting software and payroll systems.
* Basic knowledge of UK HR legislation and best practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
* Interest in sustainability and B-Corp principles is desirable.
* Knowledge of Hubspot CRM system desirable.
Working Hours:
* Flexible, part-time position (around 15-25 hours per week), with the potential for hybrid working arrangements.
* FTE: £26k - £32k p.a., based on experience and qualifications.
