Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Team Manager vacancy
Lancashire is the fourth largest local authority in England, covering a large geographical area and a wide range of communities both urban and rural. Lancashire's Education and Children's Services' vision is that children, young people, and their families are safe, healthy, and achieve their full potential.
Within Children's Services, Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service (CYJS) sits alongside the EmPower Contextualised Safeguarding Team, offering excellent opportunities for services to work together. CYJS values motivated and inspirational leaders who seek to improve outcomes for children and make a positive difference to the local communities of Lancashire. If you are looking for a new challenge, the CYJS has an excellent opportunity for you to join their highly skilled and experienced management team as a Child and Youth Justice Team Manager, on a temporary basis.
The primary focus of the post is to provide leadership and management for Prevention and Diversion work within the service. The successful candidate will also provide Youth Justice managerial support across the service, including duty management responsibilities.
You will be responsible for line managing a skilled team and leading from the front in ensuring effective prevention and diversion services. An impressive track record of management in a social work or criminal justice system setting is essential. You must hold a professional qualification in social work and be registered with Social Work England. You will be committed to ensuring and achieving the highest professional standards of effective practice in youth justice services. You will have the opportunity to innovate as we develop services to contribute to improving local communities.
CYJS's underpinning principles are to provide child-first, trauma-informed, and restorative services. The service supports some of the most vulnerable children in society, those impacted by adverse childhood experiences and those who are most excluded. Therefore, you will need to have the drive, passion, and commitment to make a difference for these children. In return, you will receive regular supervision, support, and benefit from opportunities for continuous professional and personal development.
The main office bases for CYJS are in Preston, Lancaster, and Burnley, with additional bases across Lancashire. The closing date to apply for the post is 28th November 2024.
Proposed interview date: 6th December 2024
