Trainee Patent Attorney (Graduate Entry)
2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants
Do you have a degree in physics, computer science or electronics/electrical engineering?
Are you happy to be based in York?
Have you considered a career in intellectual property law?
We're recruiting for a graduate in one of the areas listed above who is interested in applying their scientific knowledge in the legal field. Patent attorneys work with cutting-edge new technology that has quite literally just been invented. It's a professional career in the legal sector but a distinct profession from a solicitor. There is professional training and examinations, and once qualified, the career can be both lucrative and intellectually rewarding.
You will be working with local companies, universities, and global brands to help them develop their IP strategy and protect their intellectual capital. It's an international profession where you will be building a network of contacts around the world.
We're recruiting for a firm that has grown significantly in the last few years and has plenty of experience in training people to pass the patent attorney examinations and to become excellent patent attorneys.
This is not an easy profession to find opportunities in, so we would highly recommend an application in this unusual and varied career path.
Applicants will have a degree in physics, computer science, electronics, or electrical engineering (as well as closely related scientific areas). Applicants with degrees in unrelated areas (such as law, chemistry, or biology) will not be considered. Candidates should have eligibility to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship is offered for this role.
