The job is mainly picking raspberries, with some cultural work occasionally. The work is quite physical and as it is mainly performed in the summer normally hot.
The crops are all under plastic tunnels so at least it is dry. The pay is normally on a rate per tray which should be set so that realistically everybody should reach the minimum wage. The work is repetitive but can be financially rewarding.
We are bound by strict protocols in the food industry, like no jewellery, eating, smoking etc are not allowed in the working area.
