Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer to join our team at Heartwell Renewables. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical support and optimizing the facility's processes to ensure maximum safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance teams.
* Lead the design and implementation of new and/or modified processes and equipment.
* Ensure all production and operating processes operate safely and in compliance with regulatory/organizational safety and environmental program standards and goals.
* Analyze and evaluate the facility's processes to identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement process optimization strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process-related issues.
* Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
* Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
* Available to respond to calls for direction and troubleshooting of complex continuous operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Coordinate with regional leads and subject matter experts to update regulations and policies to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
* Manage and promote continuous improvement of environmental health and safety management systems.
* Based on previous experience and supervisory skills, potential to move into a technical leadership role.
* Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time for work-related activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field
* Experience in renewable or bio-diesel production, steam reformation, oil and gas industry, hydro treating and/or a PSM regulated facility.
* Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
* Minimum of 5 years of full-time employee work experience in process optimization in a chemical or petrochemical facility.
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Knowledge of process simulation software and statistical analysis tools
* Willing to relocate to Nebraska and work on site in Hastings, NE
* Comfortable working in an industrial work environment that may include loud areas, work at heights, entry into confined spaces, and other potential chemical/atmospheric hazards that require use of appropriate PPE.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Experience providing operational leadership to audit, inspection, and risk assessment processes.
* Familiarity with renewable diesel production processes is a plus.
* Directly monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer requirements are within specifications.
* Oversee operations for multiple departments or processes and shifts and to ensure indirect reports follow policies and procedures related to employee, process, and environmental safety.
