Overview Fixatex is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead a team of site supervisors and electrical engineers within the company's maintenance department. The role involves overseeing various electrical works, predominantly in social housing and local authority properties. The Electrical Supervisor will ensure all work is completed to specification, meets current regulations, and aligns with the company’s quality standards. A key responsibility includes reviewing and signing off electrical certification. The successful candidate will also assist the Head of Department in managing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team. This position requires NICEIC Qualified Supervisor registration. The role will be a mix of office-based work in Hertford and mobile working across London and surrounding counties.. Responsibilities and Duties Supervision & Management • Lead, support, and develop a high-performing team of electrical engineers and site supervisors. • Oversee daily operations within the maintenance department. • Conduct on-site supervision visits to engineers and ensure adherence to company standards. • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings. • Conduct engineer performance reviews and probation assessments. • Assist with recruitment, interviews, and staff development. • Provide technical support to admin staff, engineers, and supervisors. Quality Control & Compliance • Ensure all work meets industry regulations, safety standards, and client specifications. • Review and sign off on electrical certification. • Carry out post-inspections of completed work. • Support NICEIC assessments as the company's Qualified Supervisor. Project & Client Management • Attend pre-start meetings with clients, scheme managers, and stakeholders. • Conduct weekly progress site visits with clients. • Prepare job specifications, quotations, and variations (VOs). • Liaise with UK Power Networks (UKPN) regarding electrical works. • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication with clients and residents. Technical Duties • Carry out electrical testing, inspection, installation, and maintenance as needed. • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations. • Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical systems. • Interpret electrical/site drawings and ensure accuracy in project execution. • Support business change initiatives to improve company operations. Other Responsibilities • Adhere to company policies and procedures. • Undertake training as required for continued professional development. • Participate in staff investigations and disciplinary processes if necessary. • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department or directors. Required Skills & Experience. Essential: • Strong knowledge of the electrical industry and current regulations. • Experience in various types of electrical work, including: o Testing & inspection o Electrical installations o Fault finding & repairs • Ability to review and interpret electrical reports & certifications. • Previous supervisory or management experience in the electrical sector. • Strong communication and leadership skills. • IT proficiency, including administrative skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Desirable: • Experience with emergency lighting servicing. • Knowledge of fire alarm installation & servicing. Qualifications Required: • City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (or equivalent). • City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent. • City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations – BS 7671). • Full UK Driving License (held for at least 12 months). Preferred: • Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship. • Asbestos Awareness training (can be provided by the company). Work status & Hours • Employment Type: Full-time. • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours per day, 1-hour unpaid break). • Overtime: Required as dictated by business needs, including evenings and weekends (with reasonable notice). • Travel: Required across the UK to undertake assignments.
