We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated colleague to join our friendly and enthusiastic retail team in our flagship shop and warehouse at Creekmoor.
Working in an extremely busy and fast-paced environment, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for receiving and moving large volumes of donations, including deliveries of furniture, dropped off by our customers, supporters, and contractors.
You will be required to sort and process the donations and stock in our warehouse, as well as help move furniture to replace sold items on the shop floor.
You will also work with colleagues on the shop floor to create a brilliant shopping environment and provide an excellent customer experience. Here you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and flair, maintaining a well-presented shop while helping to maximise sales and profits.
As a significant portion of this role involves lifting and moving goods, including furniture, manual handling training will be provided.
Ideally, you will have warehouse experience as well as retail experience, with excellent knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.
As a first point of contact, whether at the back door accepting donations or on the shop floor, excellent communication skills are essential. You will also be expected to understand and advise donors about Gift Aid and its importance to the charity.
A strong work ethic, good organisational skills, the ability to apply sound judgement, and the ability to work under pressure are all key requirements of the role.
If you want to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to making a difference to the children and families we support, then please get in touch.
Hours will be based on a rota, covering shop opening hours (Monday – Sunday).
Julia’s House is an award-winning children’s hospice charity dedicated to bringing comfort and care to families across the two counties.
Each family we support is unique, and so is the care we provide. When a family finds out that their child has a very serious medical condition, which is life-limiting or life-threatening, their world falls apart. Julia’s House exists to help these children and their families.
