Business Services Group based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, has an opportunity for an experienced Head of Finance to undertake the day-to-day responsibility of the Finance function for the UK division within the Group for a six month period.
What will the Interim Head of Finance role involve?
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the key responsibilities of the interim Head of Finance position will include:
1. Preparation of all statutory and corporate statements and returns within set deadlines;
2. Provision of monthly analysis of monthly results providing insight on performance by product and division to aid business planning and strategic decision making;
3. Liaising with European entities to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of monthly results for consolidation;
4. Production of monthly management accounts, overseeing the annual budgeting process and associated monthly reforecasting providing commentary on any variances;
5. Ensure that all internal controls and processes are in line with group standards and external requirements;
6. Management and continued development of finance team of 4 including undertaking monthly reviews and effective allocation of tasks;
Suitable Candidate for the Interim Head of Finance position:
1. Applicants for the position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification with a proven track record of working successfully in a similar role where they have demonstrated strong statutory reporting and financial control capabilities;
2. Previous experience of reviewing existing processes and control, implementing effective improvements where necessary;
3. Detail-orientated with the ability to see and understand the strategic direction and larger, corporate picture;
4. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work effectively with non-finance individuals at all levels across various departments and geographical locations within the business;
5. Proven team leadership and development skills.
