About the Role
Are you interested in developing a career in environmental monitoring and research?
At NPL, we are looking for an MCERTS Level 2 emissions monitoring team leader with a real passion for tackling air pollution and climate change who can work within our active NPL industrial emissions team and who has an interest to develop their career in environmental measurement and metrology. You will be based at our Teddington site and will use your analytical and problem-solving skills on a variety of work including field work on industrial sites, experimental work in the laboratory, data analysis, report writing and delivering research projects through practical and theory-based learning.

In this role, you will be able to:
* Are you interested in developing a career in environmental monitoring and research?
* Maintain and ensure high safety standards in accordance with our system and customer site specific requirements
* Lead Teams as an MCERTS Level 2 during industrial field sampling and monitoring activities
* Project managing field measurement campaigns and emission measurement contracts
* Carry out site review visits and compile Site Specific Protocols
* Undertake sampling in accordance with prescribed procedures
* Compile and review emission testing reports
* Interact and communicate with customer contacts, regulators, etc
* Adhere to company and client quality and health and safety protocols
* Support the industrial emissions team with research projects and activities at the NPL facility and stack simulator
* Maintain records in accordance with our accredited Quality Management System (QMS)

* You have MCERTS Level 2 Team Leader qualifications
* Ideally you have a background in Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science or a related discipline
* You have experience of working in a team to achieve a common goal
* You are able to communicate clearly and collaborate with colleagues in your team
* You enjoy problem solving and can demonstrate critical thinking, assessing the pros and cons of your approach
* You have evidence of writing scientific technical reports during your studies, or are willing to learn if your experience was acquired in a different setting
* You have a full driving license as extensive travel, including overnight stays, will be involved
* You will enjoy working outdoors and specifically at heights.
* You understand the value of providing good customer service to both internal and external customers, wanting to meet and exceed customer expectations through delivering high quality work with proactive communications
* You are committed to personal development and taking on learning opportunities to get the most from the role
