The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing production equipment at the company’s 24/7 facility. Working closely with the Production Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of machinery, minimizing downtime, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance: Perform both electrical and mechanical servicing, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of production machinery. Breakdown Response: Provide rapid, effective responses to breakdowns to ensure minimal disruption to operations. Fault Diagnosis: Identify and resolve faults using your technical expertise, ensuring all machinery is fully operational before returning to production. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and maintain accurate service records. Process Improvements: Collaborate with the production team to identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency. Inventory Management: Manage and source spare parts to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime. Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing updates and clear communication regarding maintenance activities. About You We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on professional with the following skills and experience: Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background. Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally plastics or similar industries. Proficiency in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical processes. Knowledge of PLC programming and fault-finding. Familiarity with the 18th Edition Electricity at Work regulations and PUWER standards. Experience using maintenance systems such as PPM or Holistech. A formal electrical engineering qualification (minimum Level 3). Health & Safety knowledge with a strong commitment to compliance. Desirable Skills Familiarity with PET sheet production, ancillary equipment, and granulation systems. Basic IT skills for logging maintenance activities and communication. What’s in it for You?
