What we are looking for;
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with young people and colleagues to deliver a range of activities at the youth club. You will need to be highly motivated, organised and have the skill to develop activities in a fun and safe environment that involves young people at all levels. No experience is required at this stage however, the successful candidate will be required to complete the relevant youth work qualification within two years of commencing this role. When this qualification is achieved registration with the Education Workforce Council will be required.
The main duties of the post;
Deliver projects and activities in line with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh, which includes DoE and youth forums
Support young people to become involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of services and activities at the youth club
Ensure that local authority policies and procedures are observed in respect to safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety
Inform the Worker in Charge of any concerns regarding grievances, complaints, incident and or accidents or safeguarding issues
Complete all relevant youth club paperwork in accordance with the local authorities procedures and policies
Attend three pre term meetings per year
Maintain up to date knowledge in the field of Youth and Community Work through undertaking training including the three per term training events
Deliver projects and or activities which broaden horizons and promote community cohesion
Attend Employment Development Reviews annually and identify training and development needs
You will have experience in/of;
Working with young people between the ages of 11 – 24 in a variety of settings.
