A small Irish based ecological consultancy with 6 staff members currently engaged in a wide range of renewables projects with some housing developments and minerals related works also currently underway.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Ecologist at Blackstaff Ecology. The role is home office based with up to 50% in the field. Work sites are located all over Ireland, therefore some travel is essential. The Senior Ecologist will be responsible for overseeing ecological projects, conducting fieldwork, analyzing data, writing reports, and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
1. Masters in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
2. Proven experience in ecological surveying, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies
3. Strong knowledge of local flora and fauna, habitats, and conservation regulations
4. Excellent data analysis, report writing, and project management skills
5. Proficiency in GIS software, ecological modeling tools, and statistical analysis
6. Effective communication, teamwork, and client management abilities
7. Full member of CIEEM
8. Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability
Work Schedule
4-day week (with Fridays off), however salary is based on the industry standard 5-day week.
