About the Role: Our client is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM). In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities (70% hunting) and nurturing existing client relationships (30% farming). This includes short and long-term equipment hires, PMP service contracts, capital sales, and leasing of new and used equipment. Working in a close team, your role is paramount in helping develop strategic partnerships to take the business in the direction they want to go.
Your role will include:
* Identify, research, and reach potential clients through market research, networking, and cold calling.
* Develop and implement sales plans to meet defined targets.
* Conduct customer product presentations and demonstrations.
* Formulate and present sales and service quotations.
* Negotiate and close new business deals, ensuring alignment with company goals.
* Attend industry events and trade shows to generate leads and build relationships.
* Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products and services.
* Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
To succeed in this role you will be/have:
* A hunter with a demonstrable new business development and sales background.
* Experience in equipment hire sales and leasing or capital equipment sales.
* Fantastic customer service, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* An ability to think outside the box and provide creative solutions.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
