Cut Price Timber is an independent timber merchant based in Tranent East Lothian. We started trading in 2013 and have continued to grow our business since. Our brand is built around giving our customers the highest level of customer service possible while continuing to find ways to improve going forward. Our staff are our main asset and the backbone to our business; without them, we could not offer the service that we do. We are now looking to expand our range of products with our existing customer base and attract new business.
Role to include:
* You will be on the front line dealing with customers face to face when delivering products.
* Loading and unloading company vehicles, which will generally be lone working.
* Working together with other staff to proactively create a safe working environment.
* Delivering materials from our yard to customers in a safe and professional manner.
* Loading the vehicle in the yard - it will be the successful candidate’s responsibility to ensure the vehicle is loaded correctly by use of forklift and working with the yard staff. Then unloaded at each drop (non-mechanical offload), safe and in line with road, transport and Health & Safety legislation.
* Presenting a good company image.
* It is likely you would perform between 10 - 20 drops per day covering a wide area (averaging around 180 miles per day).
* Yard housekeeping and organization would be a requirement.

About You:
* Must show initiative, drive, and self-motivation.
* Excellent communication skills - customer service is paramount to our business, so building a rapport with customers is important.
* Knowledge of timber products is desirable, but not essential.
* Health & safety awareness is paramount.
* Need to be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment.
* Drivers are the face of the business and must be professional whilst on the road and with customers at all times.
* Candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work on their own or as part of a team.
* Must take good care of company vehicles.
* A driving licence is essential with no more than 3 points.
* A C1, C licence or greater is required; 7.5 ton upward vehicles will be driven.
* Forklift licence would be of benefit, but not necessarily required as training can be given.
* An understanding of the local area would be helpful.
* Our insurance covers drivers over the age of 30.
The role would be a full-time permanent position.
Salary - £29,000 upwards.
Working Hours would be 6.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and every second Saturday, 7.30am to 1.00pm. Earlier starts may be required when deliveries are further away.
