Payroll Assistant
Salary: Up to £30,000
Location: Barnsley

We are currently supporting a highly successful and rapidly growing business in Barnsley, who are looking to add a Payroll Assistant to their finance department on a permanent basis.
This is a standalone position where you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, as well as various reporting, pension administration and query resolution. You will have full support in this role to ensure the smooth running of the payroll and also be given the opportunity to implement processes and improve efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. End to end payroll processing for approximately 1800 employees
2. Fortnightly & monthly payroll for employees based across multiple sites
3. Compile payroll data and produce payroll reports
4. HMRC reporting & Year end duties
5. Submission of pension contributions
6. Administration of the time and attendance system
7. Monitoring and maintaining Payroll email inbox and query resolution
8. Annual submission of the company’s Gender Pay Report
9. Other tasks as required as befits the role and development
Person Specification:
10. At least 2 years payroll experience
11. Sage 50 payroll experience is advantageous
12. High attention to detail and accuracy
13. Ability to work on own initiative and within deadlines in payroll calendar
14. Proficient in Excel
