BW Legal's finance department is fast-paced, operating to SRA rules within a dual-regulated, market-leading law firm. With a starting salary of £19,200-£22,000, depending on your experience, this could be the opportunity to kick start your career with us.
Our Cashier team works closely with our Billing team. They are responsible for allocating and reconciling funds received on a daily basis to our client account to cases that we are managing for our clients. The role is integral to the effective running of the department: all receipts have to be posted in a timely manner, ensuring billing accuracy, the speedy remit of funds to our clients and prompt reflection of receipts to customers balances which can still be within a collection strategy.
The team has progression routes that your Team Manager will explore with you in order to develop your experience to a Senior Cashiers or Dual Cashier role, in which you can upskill and support the Billing team.
What you will be doing:
1. Processing files for direct debit collections
2. Downloading bank transactions accurately and reconciling to our client accounts
3. Posting cash to client cases in our case management system
4. Processing chargebacks and direct debit reversals
5. Reviewing unallocated cash receipts with no reference and contacting the bank
6. Supporting with resolving any internal department enquiries
Do you have the following skills and experience?
1. Great attention to detail
2. Can work well under pressure
3. Experience of using Microsoft Excel
4. Maths and English GCSE Grade C/4 above or equivalent grade qualification
5. Experience in a similar role / experience working in a finance department / any other relatable work experience
While not essential, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:
1. Studied or studying towards any financial qualification
2. Experience of dealing with confidential information
3. Knowledge of rules GDPR, Anti Money Laundering
This role benefits from a 6-hour working day, which offers an excellent work-life balance. The team works on a weekly rota covering 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, so you have a balance of earlier and later finishes.
