Your Role
Following an exciting internal promotion, we’re looking for a dynamic and motivated First Line Manager to lead day-to-day operations within one of our specialist teams (Hazardous products). In this key role, you’ll collaborate closely with Team Leaders, guiding and supporting a diverse group of operatives, administrators, and leaders to ensure smooth operations and exceptional performance.
Based at our Donnington (Telford) site, this role is a vital part of our contract logistics division. It offers the perfect opportunity to not only apply your expertise but also grow and advance with us as the business evolves.
Your Responsibilities
1. Conducting management, team and line manager briefings to ensure the team is fully aware of activities.
2. Managing the team, including undertaking absence and discipline management activities as required.
3. Mentoring/Coaching staff and supporting peers, developing the team through the completion of Conduct Performance Plans and Reviews (PPRs) to ensure succession planning/talent management is in place.
4. Acting as an Ambassador for Quality and actively participating in continuous quality improvements, including driving changes in quality gates and culture.
5. Ensuring the warehouse delivers against customer requirements through effective Resource Utilisation, Planning and Management activities.
6. Responsible for effective and efficient Operational Area Management as applicable and required.
7. Ensuring compliance of the operation to the Quality systems, industry standards and legal requirements.
Your Skills and Experiences
1. Logistics management experience in a large, fast-moving environment.
2. Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading.
3. Dangerous goods regulation trained (IATA/ADR/IMDG/SEA&ROAD) would be advantageous.
4. Drive, determination, and a track record in delivering continuous improvement.
5. Ability to influence, negotiate, and deal with conflict successfully.
