Commissioning Technical Support Specialist – London and the South East Regional role focus: London and the South East Working Hours: Standard hours of 37.5 per week UK Head Office: Dartford, Kent Role Package: Base Salary 10% Bonus Car Allowance Daily: Expected to travel and be based onto customer site when required - Travel from home to site is covered by Helvar Due to expansion, we are seeking a skilled Commissioning Technical Support Specialist to join our dynamic team of commissioning engineers across Helvar UK within the Lighting Intelligence business unit. While being part of a UK Operations Technical Team, the role involves close collaboration with our Sales Managers situated in the areas of London and the Southeast of England. However, you may be requested to travel to other parts of the UK when required. The main objective of this role is to execute the day-to-day Commissioning and Programming of Lighting Controls Systems in the field. This involves initiating early engagement with the Customer to establish a relationship centered around the project execution phase, including expectations regarding timeline, key milestones, completion, and handover. The role also encompasses managing the integration of solutions by providing support, diagnosing issues, and troubleshooting common problems for our partners and customers. Additionally, the incumbent will assist the Helvar UK Technical Operations Team in their daily tasks and responsibilities as they collaborate with our partners and customers. This position holds a crucial role in ensuring that all stakeholders possess the requisite knowledge of Helvar’s solutions. What you'll be doing as a Helvar Commissioning Technical Support Specialist The Customers delivery experience is adhered too. This aligns to the requirements of Helvar’s procedure for Project Execution and Handover phases. Commissioning, programming, and maintenance Helvar lighting control systems and products Establishing and maintaining relationships with a continuous and effective communication chain. Promoting a "CAN DO ATTITUDE" for the customer and initiating a dialogue introducing Helvar’s Process, Products, and Software to benefit their business. Cultivating and maintaining strong relations with key stakeholders at various levels and stages of the Sales process. Providing technical advice and support on-site to all stakeholders, including Project and/or Service Customers when necessary. Engaging in discussions about project execution, developing monitoring and control measures with the Customer, and ultimately delivering close-out/handover according to agreed-upon expectations. Oversee and manage project phases in accordance with Helvar's Roles and Responsibilities. Engage in discussions about deliverables for each stage of Helvar’s involvement. Track and report on all Project and Commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon actions with the customer. Address service escalations and proactively create improvement plans for an enhanced customer experience in the future. Advocate for Helvar solution improvements and provide constructive feedback to relevant departments. Offer technical support to the operations team and other business units, whether in the office or on partners' or customers' sites, when requested. Conduct root-cause analysis for technical issues, combining technical expertise with excellent customer service to ensure our partners and customers receive the experience they deserve. Responsible for covering the geographical region of the UK. Confident and effective communicator. Some skills we'd like from you A qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics or similar) (desirable) Ability to work in a team and interface with other departments to deliver maximum value for customers and the business. Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and value, internally and externally. Experience of managing high customer expectations and delivering results under time pressure working to tight deadlines Electrical or Electronic background Advanced IT skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Knowledge of lighting controls and/or AV equipment would be an advantage. Hands-on: the role requires being able to wire test demos as well as troubleshoot issues in the field Confident and effective communicator, ability to effectively present and influence individuals and groups at all levels Flexible and agile, able to adapt your approach and methods to maximise results.
