SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Registered Nurse in this position will be responsible for coordinating essential nursing functions, including infusion activities, to ensure compassionate patient care. They will deliver direct patient care in adherence to professional standards and clinic guidelines. The Registered (Infusion) Nurse will also foster collaboration across disciplines, promoting a team approach involving patients, families, and all members of the care team.
1. Administer intravenous (IV) fluids via peripherally inserted central catheters.
2. Conduct patient assessments, identify health issues, and provide diagnoses through patient interactions.
3. Educate patients, families, or caregivers about post-discharge care programs.
4. Initiate patient care meetings with the healthcare team to update care plans based on patient conditions.
5. Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.
6. Provide guidance to healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
7. Stay updated on nursing care advancements through participation in educational programs.
8. Orient and train new staff in nursing techniques and department procedures.
9. Deliver and oversee direct patient care based on established nursing protocols and physician orders.
10. Apply knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety measures during crisis situations.
11. Participate in total quality management initiatives to improve patient and system outcomes.
12. Document patient care accurately in health records according to standards.
13. Direct and delegate patient care tasks to other team members.
14. Deliver safe and comprehensive infusion services to oncology patients.
15. Provide education and follow-up care post-discharge from NMAC infusion services.
16. Respond to emergencies using adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.
17. Uphold confidentiality regarding patient, family, and facility staff matters.
18. Deliver care with sensitivity and respect for patient and family diversity, while preserving autonomy and rights.
Direct Report: Practice Administrator
Minimum Qualification: Registered Nurse (RN)
* Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an outpatient medical clinic or hospital, medical office setting
* BCLS certification
* Current IV and Phlebotomy skills
* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills with a proactive approach
* Familiarity with electronic medical healthcare record systems.
