Position Overview - Maternity Cover from January 2025 - Early February 2026
The Kent Event Centre is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Event Centre Team Leader to oversee the smooth execution of a busy event and conference centre and ensure exceptional customer experiences. As a key member of our events team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team, coordinating logistics, and delivering a high standard of service across all events hosted at the venue. The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to manage operations, troubleshoot issues, and work collaboratively with clients, staff, and contractors to make every event successful.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Lead and motivate the internal sales and hospitality departments, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional service delivery.
2. Work with the Sales Team to deliver suitable conference and event packages to our customers whilst maximizing income and the use of the space available.
3. Liaise and build strong working relationships with internal departments and external contractors to ensure conferences and events run smoothly.
4. Oversee all aspects of event logistics, from pre-event set up to post-event breakdown. Ensure the timely execution of event schedules and manage on-site operations where required during the events.
5. Serve as a point of contact for clients during and post events, responding to queries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction. Assist with pre-event client meetings and site visits to finalize details.
6. Ensure all health, safety, and compliance regulations are met, including ensuring that events are providing their own risk assessments and emergency procedures.
7. Work with the Accounts Manager to ensure the prompt issuing of invoices for events and any additional services.
8. Produce weekly and monthly reports for the board with updates of sales against targets.
9. Coordinate with the Facilities Manager of Grounds to ensure events are set up to client’s specifications.
10. Maintain events database system.
11. Work with the Marketing Coordinator to actively promote the Events Centre.
12. Attend networking and industry specialist events as required as an ambassador of the Kent County Agricultural Society and the Kent Events Centre.
13. Undertake staff appraisals in consultation with the General Manager.
14. When required, be onsite or on call for clients, including occasional evenings and weekends.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the General Manager.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
