Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Media Planner to join the UKTV Ventures team on a part time basis. The Media Planner role sits within UKTV Ventures, an important business growth driving function bringing in new brands to UKTV Advertising; growing an emerging direct-to-client revenue stream; and negotiating and implementing corporate investments with UKTV Ventures central to the UKTV growth plan. This role is primarily responsible for planning, tracking, implementing & optimizing TV campaigns for UKTV Ventures Investees. In the role you will be working with direct-to-consumer startup businesses across all sectors, UKTV Ventures Commercial Manager and Ch4Sales to ensure we deliver best-in-class TV campaigns for our clients. Through the role you will get to build your profile within the start-up world; learn about different industries/markets; and develop your data analytical and project management skills by helping to deliver the most effective on-air campaigns for Investees. Key experience, knowledge, skills & personal qualities Experience Experience of planning strategic campaigns either at a broadcaster or media agency level Experience of driving performance through effective campaign planning. Experience with TV booking from a commercial POV desirable. Knowledge Excellent understanding of the basic principles of TV planning and knowledge of the TV market. Excellent understanding of BARB data and the research tools needed to analyse and plan campaigns effectively PC literate with excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. Skills & personal qualities Strong ability to analyse, understand and interrogate data to see patterns where others might not. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Solution orientated with a proactive and flexible approach to work, comfortable with a dynamic environment and changing priorities. Excellent numeracy skills, attention to detail, with the ability to work well under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines. A genuine interest in TV/Direct to Consumer/Start ups Key outputs and responsibilities of the role You will be responsible for devising integrated campaign strategies to launch, grow and sustain UKTV Venture campaigns; alongside supporting with assessing UKTV’s audience network fit against new investment targets. Liaising with the Commercial Manger, Commercial director, Investees, and 4Sales to deliver and implement effective campaigns that have been executed to achieve the highest ROI for the investee. Plan and manage implementation of UKTV Ventures campaigns with UKTV’s advertising sales agent 4Sales, from briefing, in flight optimisation, campaign parameters, asset readiness and reporting. Work closely with 4Sales to resolve any operational issues in a timely manner. Alongside the Commercial Manager, monitor, evaluate and analyse all the campaigns on an ongoing basis ensuring efficiencies and optimum campaign performance. Familiarise yourself with the UKTV Channels upcoming schedules and use this data to identify areas for campaign improvement - present findings to key stakeholders. Manage the use of inventory on UKTV channels ensuring optimal use of spend/airtime, identifying new opportunities to effectively reach target audiences across both linear and non-linear platforms. Manage reactive and late changes to campaigns. Be a super-user and in-house expect on all relevant tools and solutions such as Adalyser, TechEdge and CARIA etc. by working with systems vendors to customise these for UKTV’s needs. Assist the Commercial Manger with any ad hoc projects to enhance campaign performance. Deputising where appropriate.
