We are seeking an experienced Accounting / Finance Assistant to join an accountancy practice to work for one of their key overseas clients. This role would suit someone with 2-3 years industry experience with a good understanding and experience of double entry bookkeeping, confident completing credit control duties, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end duties.
* GBP27,000 - GBP30,000
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

* Working hours Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm / 9am - 5.30pm (1 hour for lunch)
* Office-based role that could possibly offer hybrid working after the probationary period of 3 months

Duties and responsibilities:
* Processing of supplier invoices and matching to POs
* Chasing outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate records of all invoices and payment statuses
* Processing of staff expenses
* Sending out remittances/statements
* Preparing and processing payment runs
* Supplier query resolution
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Posting of receipts and completion of client account reconciliations
* Monthly reconciliation of fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals
* Preparing and updating reports/general ledger on accounts payable/receivables and outstanding invoices for management review
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers/customers
* Monitoring of email inbox
* Assisting in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and supplier expenses
* Monitoring of cash balances and producing cashflow reports with the senior accountant
* Assisting in audits
Skills and experience required:
* 3 years previous experience of working within a finance/accounting role in industry of a similar level
* Studying AAT/ACCA or QBE
* Experience of working on QuickBooks software is desirable with good Excel experience (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
* Initiative-taking and happy to work with minimal supervision
* Numerate with a good eye for detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed
* Detailed understanding of double entry bookkeeping/accounting principles
