We are looking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to complement the strength and impact of our senior leadership team. This position is an opportunity for an experienced and reflective practitioner to work with, and lead, an exceptional group of pupils and staff to ensure best possible outcomes for these pupils and at the same time contribute to their own wellbeing, happiness and professional development.
The purpose of the role is to provide the leadership and management which enables the school to give high quality education and care thus enabling the highest possible standards of learning and personal development.

Further details about the role
Glyne Gap School is an outstanding special academy serving pupils aged 2‐19 years with severe and profound learning disabilities. Many of our pupils have other additional needs including physical, medical, sensory and autistic spectrum condition. The school has a roll of 130 split over three sites (nursery, main school and college).
Glyne Gap School has been identified as an outstanding school by Ofsted in its last 6 inspections (most recently in December 2024). However, we know that better learning never ends and as such, are seeking to appoint to this position to maintain and further develop the high standards of the whole school.
Areas of responsibility:
• The postholder will have opportunity to strategically and operationally lead within an area of the school’s practice. We will recognise the strengths the successful applicant brings to the post and the successful applicant’s specific leadership area will be discussed with them.

• Developing and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning throughout the whole school as part of the senior leadership for learning team (SLLT)
