Portsmouth Water is excited to offer an opportunity for a forward-thinking Pipelines Assistant Project Manager to join our Havant Thicket Reservoir Department.
This role supports the Project Manager under the NEC contract, communicating with stakeholders, assisting in planning, and managing projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Represent Portsmouth Water at various Sub-Group meetings.
2. Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to monitor pipeline works and coordinate activities.
3. Prepare monthly progress reports and governance approval documents.
4. Lead procurement and oversee NEC contract performance.
5. Manage design interfaces with approved suppliers.
6. Support contract management using CEMAR software.
7. Engage with external stakeholders to secure agreement on project plans.
8. Coordinate with internal teams for seamless project handover.
9. Ensure project compliance with Portsmouth Water standards, specifications, and policies.
10. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards, meeting ODI and regulatory targets.
Requirements
Skills, Competencies & Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, design, or related field.
2. Experience with major civil infrastructure projects.
3. Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., MICE, APM, PMI).
4. Full driving license (driver assessment required).
5. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
6. Self-motivated and collaborative.
7. Knowledge of planning software and techniques.
8. Proven project management skills.
9. Systematic problem-solving abilities.
10. Analytical skills for environmental plans and reports.
11. Ability to meet deadlines with focus on results and quality.
12. Proficiency in MS Office and Teams.
