Job Description:
Optimus Plus, a PD&MS Group, is seeking a Principal Piping Engineer for a full-time position at their Aberdeen office with a hybrid working pattern.
About The Role
Optimus specializes in FEED and concept design, undertaking detailed brownfield and greenfield engineering from fabrication to completion.
This role offers involvement in diverse projects across industries such as offshore oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, chemical, carbon capture, and renewables.
Key Duties include:
* Defining project scope
* Contributing to project plans and schedules
* Identifying project concerns
* Producing cost-effective, safe engineering solutions that add operational value
* Conducting surveys onshore and offshore
* Supervising team members

About You
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be proficient and thorough, and possess excellent communication skills to articulate scopes confidently. A proven track record in managing piping discipline scopes is essential.
Requirements include:
* 15+ years of engineering experience in offshore and onshore brownfield piping activities
* Knowledge of relevant piping codes and standards
* Proficiency in layout, flexibility review, and pipe support; greenfield experience is advantageous
* Strong communication skills for interfacing with clients, vendors, and suppliers
Additional experience required:
* Concept, FEED, and detailed design scopes
* Design and constructability reviews
* Progress and productivity reporting
* Preparation of workpacks, specifications, and datasheets
* Procurement, vendor management, and site surveys
* Interpreting stress analysis and using Navisworks, AutoCAD 3D/Plant 3D
A current offshore survival and medical certification is preferred. Occasional site visits may be required.
