There is a vacancy for a full time specialist Psychiatrist working intoHartlepool CMHT and Community Hub Team. This post is based at StewartHouse, Hartlepool; clinics are also at Stewart House. The Specialist will beexpected to provide committed, proactive and responsive clinical leadershipworking with other staff to provide an assessment and treatment service The Consultant is supported by a FoundationDoctor post and a Specialty Doctor (0.8 WTE) shared with the other Consultant.
Hartlepool has apopulation of 92,000, currently the team has one Consultant covering the teamsalongside this vacancy. The consultants will support both teams in Hartlepoolbetween them. The post advertised does not carry any inpatient or crisiscommitment.
Main duties of the job
-The post holder will providecommitted, proactive, and responsible leadership to the team, mainly around thedecision making in relation to patient care in both the teams.
-The post holder will clinicallyassess, evaluate and manage patients; formulate a prioritised differential diagnosis, initiatean appropriate management plan and review and adjust depending on the outcomesto treatment.
-Respect patients dignity,ensuring confidentiality and appropriate communication where potentiallydifficult or where barriers exist.
-Apply basic principles ofpublic health including population health, promoting health and wellbeing,work, nutrition, exercise, vaccination and illness prevention.
-Collaborate withmultidisciplinary and interprofessional teams to manage risk and issues acrossorganisations and settings, with respect for and recognition of the roles ofother health professionals.
-Recognise and takeresponsibility for safeguarding children, young people and adults, usingappropriate systems for identifying, sharing information, recording concerns,obtaining advice and taking action.

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
