What you’ll be doing:
We’re seeking a talented individual to join our newly-minted SEO team as a Jr. Copywriter to facilitate the production of our search-optimized content. This role is especially suited for a strong writer with a knack for editorial and a passion for creative experimentation. In addition to producing high-quality, search-optimized content, our new Jr. Copywriter will work closely with the SEO Team Lead to develop and iterate on a defined, effective SEO writing approach and align SEO strategies with production realities.
* Create a consistent stream of in-depth, high-quality articles and SEO briefs to satisfy production needs.
* Partner closely with the Content and Web teams to contribute to and maintain high content and website editorial standards.
* Own internal subject matter expert (SME) relationships, including preliminary topical interviews and article reviews.
* Collaborate with SEO Team Lead on SEO content strategy, ideation, and performance evaluation.
* Use and experiment with internal and external AI tools to balance process optimization with a need to maintain content quality.
* Provide critical feedback to the SEO Team Lead regarding workflows, processes, and production needs.
* Stay up to date with SEO and AI trends to ensure high performance.
* Brief comprehensive image requests to the Brand and Creative team to support content initiatives.
What you will bring to the table:
* 1+ year of experience in content writing, copywriting, or digital marketing (this can include internships, freelance work, or coursework focused on areas like social media, search engine marketing, or online advertising).
* Proven ability to adapt tone and style to align with both individual contributors and the broader RELEX brand voice.
* Strong storytelling skills with the ability to craft engaging narratives from detailed or technical information.
* Enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement with a proactive approach to refining content.
* Understanding of the editorial process (or willingness to learn quickly).
* Effective communication and organizational skills with a knack for balancing multiple projects.
* A critical eye for quality content and openness to constructive feedback.
* Ownership mindset with a drive to see projects through to successful outcomes.
* Collaborative, team-oriented attitude and an interest in contributing to a growing initiative with a willingness to innovate and test new approaches.
* Experience working in AP style (with a notable exception for our good friend, the Oxford comma).
