JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Motor Vehicle Service Manager / Repair and Maintenance Supervisor with a background in breakdown and recovery operations, strong communication skills, and proven leadership experience with good people management skills.
As the Motor Vehicle Service Manager / Repair and Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing Heathrow Ramp & Recovery operations, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
You will proactively drive productivity and efficient use of resources to ensure a safe, punctual, and cost-effective operation.
DUTIES
* Ensure all breakdowns, recoveries, and preventative works are conducted safely and efficiently.
* Be accountable for the safety and wellbeing of all staff airside and landside.
* Investigate safety incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
* Participate in safety governance meetings and follow up on safety actions.
* Conduct PPE audits and quality assurance checks to uphold safety standards.
* Manage pro-time and ensure accurate clocking in/out.
* Conduct personal development reviews and identify training needs.
* Assign jobs to technicians, ensuring response times meet contractual targets.
* Manage parts requests, costs, and fitting.
* Deliver toolbox talks to keep team informed and engaged.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* Customer-focused with strong service delivery skills.
* Management or supervisory experience with proven people management skills.
* Background in breakdown and recovery operations.
* Proficient in literacy, analysis, and numeracy.
* Good financial and negotiation skills.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of workshop procedures and systems, including ELC & SAP.
* Experience working in a customer-focused, pressurized environment.
* Driving license and eligibility for an airside pass and driving permit.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations (IOSH/NEBOSH).
* Operational expertise in motor mechanics, LGV, and heavy vehicles.
* Relevant licenses: CPC, HGV & PSV.
