GENERAL FUNCTION
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for maintaining process integrity and troubleshooting plant control systems. The Shift Electrician is responsible for keeping the entire plant operational from a systems control standpoint. This role requires an understanding of instrumentation and plant control systems including PLCs and ladder logic. The Electrician will directly support the Production team and maintain safe practices at all times to ensure that the plant operates safely, with the authority to stop Production based on their safety judgment call.
We will pay $36.00-$39.00 per hour (depending on experience, to start). We have an 8-on and 6-off Schedule. Night shift employees will receive an additional $1.20/hr shift differential ($37.20-$40.20/hr).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Ability to work 12 hour shifts
* Overtime, when required
* Ability to work assigned work rotation
* Flexibility to adjust schedule in support of Production changes

* Ability to prioritize work assignments independently using logic and good judgment
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintain plant documentation including red-lining prints
* Assist in developing plant procedures and safety policies
* Communicate logic changes to production operators and supervisors
* Perform routine calibration on instrumentation
* Troubleshoot all electrical and control-related problems
* Wear appropriate PPE at all times
* Exhibit initiative and good judgment
* Perform with safe work practices at all times
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Climbing on ladders to heights of over 10’ - 5%
* Walking throughout plant from location to location - 20%
* Standing - 5%
* Sitting - 20%
* Reading for information - 10%
* Physical dexterity: squatting, bending, lifting, etc. - 5%
* Troubleshooting - 35%
PROBLEM-SOLVING:
Decisions will be based on the impact of repairing or changing the electrical wiring, electronic equipment and software to the production capability of the plant. The Electrician/Systems Technician's problem-solving ability should be governed by established practices, plant rules and regulations, manuals, counsel/advice, and independent thinking. The individual needs to possess the natural ability to troubleshoot using good logic, experience, and process of elimination techniques.
KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum: Journeyman-level Electrician, desired 2-year degree or equivalent in vocational training with specific emphasis in instrumentation and industrial control. At least 5 years work experience in instrumentation and process control in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of PLC and ladder logic is essential.
