We are seeking an experienced Modern Workplace Engineer with expertise in both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, specifically within the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems. This role involves leading M365 migrations, implementing security and compliance frameworks, and managing key tools such as Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and MFA.
The position requires familiarity with hybrid environments, necessitating hands-on experience with on-premises infrastructure and networking. You will actively contribute to project execution, drive process enhancements, and foster technological innovation within the organization and for clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execute Microsoft 365 migrations, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams Phone Systems.
2. Support and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions and Windows 10/11 environments.
3. Deploy and oversee VMWare, Windows Server, and storage and backup solutions such as Azure Site Recovery, VEEAM, Acronis, and Datto BCDR.
4. Configure and manage firewalls, with knowledge of platforms such as Fortinet, WatchGuard, and enterprise networking solutions from Cisco or Aruba.
5. Implement security and compliance policies, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, and Conditional Access policies.
6. Administer Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), MFA, Intune, and various Microsoft 365 services.
7. Deploy and manage Microsoft Defender across Office 365, Endpoint, and Cloud Apps.
8. Utilize PowerShell for automation and process optimization within desktop support operations.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders to shape the future of digital workplace solutions.
10. Enhance security and operational efficiency through automation and improved deployment methodologies.
11. Engage in ongoing professional development through company-sponsored or industry training.
12. Coordinate with security teams and external partners to maintain compliance and safeguard systems.
13. Provide third-line support for desktop infrastructure, ensuring optimal stability and performance.
Requirements
1. Minimum of three years’ experience in Microsoft 365 migrations and technical support.
2. Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools.
3. Practical knowledge of Entra ID and Microsoft Defender solutions.
4. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
5. Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Preferred
1. Industry certifications such as MS-500, AZ-104, or equivalent.
2. Prior experience in a managed service provider (MSP) or client-facing technical role.
