Caudwell Marine is a start-up engineering company, financially backed by John Caudwell, developing an innovative, patented outboard motor and Vessel Control System for launch in 2025. The Caudwell Marine organisation is a small but growing, experienced team of people who are passionate about successfully bringing this technologically leading outboard motor to market. Each team member has a ‘hands on’ approach and supports each other for the benefit of the programme. The Assembly Team Leader will work with internal teams to support Manufacturing and the test requirements of the engine. You will act as primary contact point to Assembly and Test Operators for all engine build and test activities across Caudwell Marine to ensure the development, knowledge, and commission of our initial and ongoing products. You will support the Manufacturing Operations and Engineering Design in identifying and advising on build and testing solutions to meet test cycle requirement, quality targets and our customer needs. Once appointed you will report to the Head of Manufacturing. Main Responsibilities: Point of contact and coaching for the day to day operation of the production assembly facility and engine test cell. Support for the Manufacturing and Test team with real world knowledge. Work with Test Engineer to prepare test rigs to enable hardware and system testing to be carried out. Support testing carried out by external test houses. Carry out test data analysis, derive conclusions and influence design decisions. Effectively logging, monitoring and retesting all defects found during testing. Have in depth knowledge of the entire build and test process. Influence and drive the culture requirements and be a role model for Assembly and Test staff. Escalating any issues likely to affect the project scope or timescales Support Test Engineer by ensuring test measurement devices are operational and within quality standards, ensuring accuracy of Engine test data is understood and maintained Support problem solving and root cause analysis surrounding measurement system and equipment, including identifying continuous improvement opportunities across Assembly and Engine Testing Understand latest design revisions and work proactively with the Test and Development team to ensure accuracy of information Previous Experience: Knowledge of Assembly and Test methods in a Manufacturing environment Aerospace/Automotive or similar Proven track record of training and providing leadership and guidance Personal Attributes: Approachable with calm manner Flexible Able to prioritise for maximum efficiency Qualifications: Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering Degree or HND preferred Evidence of other formal qualifications & training to demonstrate high technical competence in mechanical and electronic engineering and maintenance Additional Information: Monday to Friday 8 am - 4 pm (on site) - flexibility required Salary range: 35,000 - 45,000/annum Disclaimer: Caudwell Marine operates a Preferred Supplier List (PSL) for recruitment agencies, which is currently not under review.
