We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a school in Northampton. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, creative, and committed to making a positive impact on a child's educational journey.
The Role:
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 support)
Location: NN3, Northampton
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: Full-time, term-time only
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to a pupil with ASD in the classroom and during school activities.
2. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
3. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Use strategies to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
5. Assist with sensory and emotional regulation when required.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach.
4. A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
