Eastlight Community Homes has a brilliant new opportunity for a driven Assistant Programme Manager (Clerk of Works) within our Asset & Delivery team! In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for overseeing site visits, defect and handover procedures, snagging, and gathering all asset data upon completion.
You will also oversee some smaller projects in their entirety and will be responsible for record keeping (for example, insurance works following fire/flood).
The responsibilities:
* Track the progress, effectiveness and development of contracted scheduled works and investment projects.
* Conduct technical surveys for residential properties to ensure due diligence, then obtain and present findings to both internal and external parties, providing solutions and recommendations as needed.
* Manage quality assurance for operations and goods and services, ensuring that clients' expectations are satisfied and that applicable laws are followed.
* Ensure that all projects are completed in full compliance with the contract requirements and all applicable safety regulations and legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and the Construction, Design and Management Regulations (2015).
* Provide regular site updates outlining the progress and quality of all ongoing work.
* Take ownership of the defect and snagging process for projects.
* Support the Programme Managers and cover during periods of absence.
To be successful you will need:
* A relevant qualification in an applicable construction related subject (BSc, FdSc, HND or similar) is desirable, but not essential.
* Previous experience in building surveying or structural defect identification, as well as construction contracts delivery, ideally in an occupied residential setting.
* Proven knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), as well as site safety knowledge, SMSTS or similar.
* Competency in building regulations and other industry standards, the Government's Home Standard, and technical knowledge in domestic property construction.
* Confidence in using Microsoft 365 suite, as well as report building/writing.
* A current UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
