Mission & Role of the Function
To meet all customers’ and business requirements in the most cost-effective, professional, and timely manner whilst achieving a high level of customer service. To provide customers with a quality service for all sales enquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries, and associated administration in the most cost-effective way for Heidelberg Materials Quarry Products.
Key Accountabilities
* To ensure that the company Health and Safety Policy, Local Managers Rules and all Risk Assessments and Method Statements relating to work or works under your control are complied with.
* To liaise closely with work colleagues, Unit Manager, Suppliers, and Contractors to ensure the smooth and efficient running and programming of the plant for the production of aggregates.
* To provide continuous supervision of quarry activities, to ensure the efficient and cost-effective utilisation of labour, plant, and material resources.
* To continue your own progress by means of CPD (Continuous Professional Development) and by attending training courses and seminars as determined by Heidelberg Materials.

The role holder is expected:
* To comply with all aspects of the Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy.
* To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place.
* To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.
* To proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.
* To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required.
* To comply with all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company.
Job Requirements
Essential:
* Good level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction
* Excellent communication skills
* Allocator cycle knowledge and understanding
* Previous planning experience
Desirable:
* Knowledge of construction industry and products
* Knowledge of local and national geography.
Experience:
* 1 year customer sales/service/operations/transport role
Management/Leadership Skills:
* Proven capability to build effective working relationships with customers and colleagues
* Demonstrated ability to use own initiative to improve performance and service.
Education/Qualification:
* Minimum of a Grade C at GCSE in Maths and English
* Excellent knowledge of SAP, Syncrotess systems and standard office packages
* Good communication and analytical skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels
* Ideally have experience of working within a large company environment and achieving targets
