Job Description Responsibilities: Promotes safe working practices and continual improvement in site safely culture. Responsible for the effective and efficient testing and commissioning of substation equipment ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and budgets. Responsible for the execution of day-to-day commissioning activities to successfully achieve on time delivery of assigned projects. Responsible for the preparation, creation and issue of site documentation including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement), NCR’s (Non-conformance Report), TQ’s (Technical Queries) in accordance with approved processes and procedures. Communicating site non-compliances and or deviations to the Site Manager & Project Engineer. Reports to the Site Manager / Project Manager and Commissioning Manager. Responsible for assisting with commissioning activities to an agreed programme and to pre-set time scales and budgets. Basic experience in the testing and commissioning of HV power systems equipment. Basic experience in activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use. Basic understanding in SCADA systems as well as technical skills using PC / DS Agile/ Aview software. Site experience, working at height and working in a construction environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally. EXPERIENCE Demonstrated experience in testing and commissioning of substation equipment (Generation, transmission and distribution). Basic experience of working in a HV substation environments. Basic knowledge & understanding of GE Micom and Multilin products will be an added advantage. Familiarity of working with any of the various test equipment such as Omicron, Sverker, Programma and Megger.
