About the team: At the heart of NEXT we have the HR team supporting all of head office, retail and our warehouses - that's over 50,000 people! Oracle was introduced to support such a large and growing workforce and will ensure that our people continue to be at the centre of NEXT by ensuring we have the software we need to develop current talent, attract new talent to join us as well as the oh so important payroll aspects. Working across our HR Development and support platforms, you will be the primary contact for the support of systems that handle all our company employees. This will involve everything from developing cutting-edge technology features and practices, to playing a major role in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of high-profile projects. You will help provide development support to internal users, as well as offering out-of-hours cover during seasonal events and busy trading periods. You will also use your expertise and experience to help us continually improve our processes and working practices, actively enabling the department to become as efficient and effective as it can be. About the Role
* Part of a second line team providing operational support for key business processes
* Involved in project team deliveries with a support viewpoint
* Identify and implement service improvements where applicable
* Automation of manual tasks and processes
* Be involved in the full life cycle development including analysis, design, deployment etc
* Provide analytical and programming skills across a range of platforms, translating business requirements into code
* Develop new concepts, testing, deploying and supporting the multitude of applications used by our business
* Proactively improve existing skills, taking on new technical skills as appropriate, and continuously seek to expand business knowledge
* Work closely with other systems teams to improve cross-team resolution of issues
* Have the flexibility to provide additional support when required by project work, key events, peak periods etc.
About you:
* Competent in picking up a system from scratch and being able to follow and document data flows and business logic.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Understands HR systems and processes.
* Able to analyse legacy systems and find out what they are doing.
* Team player with peers in support team
* Be able to communicate effectively with the business users and other IT teams.
* A “can do” attitude
Technical skills/business skills required: Practical knowledge of:
